Women’s History Month is dedicated to honoring women in history’s contribution in the field of culture, history, and society in the United States. It began as a local celebration known as “Women’s History Week” in Santa Rosa, California in 1978 and quickly became a nationwide movement the following year.
In February 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first Presidential Proclamation declaring the week of March 8th as the National Women’s History Week.
Fast forward to 2018, Ngozi Bell founded and together with her core team launched, “The Women’s History Month – Rising Together”, which is an annual event that commemorates the National Women’s History Month celebration in March.
The organization’s Vision is to engage women, their supporters and ecosystem to gather and encourage individuals and communities to live out excellence through support, empathy and resilience; and their Mission is to execute on love, leadership and potential through distinguished events that respond responsibly to the events of our time. Today, it is run by the Women’s History Month Coalition (WHMC).
The year 2020 has been quite a challenge for the whole world as we know it, however, it didn’t stop the ardent goodwill ambassadors at WHMC from continuing their mission. With the rise of virtual platform for events, the organization teamed up with Vsummits; a cloud-based and global leader in virtual event management for their 2021 annual event.
